The Southern Spa and Salon Conference (aka “The Hickory Show”) will not be held this year — or in the foreseeable future.

The COVID pandemic has changed the way we do business in many ways. With online education and changes in CE guidelines coming from many state boards (particularly North Carolina and South Carolina), many pros are reluctant to leave the comfort of their homes and spa. As a result, the show cannot go on and be profitable.

It was conference creator and host Jamie Treadaway’s passion and vision for our industry that kept the show going all these years. He tirelessly fought for industry professionals to have a venue right here in our own backyard.

Because of Jamie’s efforts, we were given an opportunity to express ourselves and our love for aesthetics, cosmetology, and massage. We met new colleagues, launched new products, and grew our businesses and our knowledge — all in a fun, intimate atmosphere like no other trade show on the planet!

However, many in the industry are now asking how and where to get NC CE credits with no “Hickory Show.” NewMed Concepts can help!

Due to these recent developments, I have restarted my Motivational Monday Meetings every 1st Monday of the month at 10:00am ET. In these professional meetings, we highlight many industry topics.

Even better, the meetings are considered an NC CE, since at least 50% of the discussions are aesthetic business-related topics.

Simply log when you watch the NMC Motivational Monday Meeting class and keep a record of the date and time until you have eight hours per year as required by the NC state board.
